Norco or something similar for neuropathy pain
Has anyone been prescribed Norco or something similar for neuropathy pain? I have ts-hds neuropathy. I had a rotator cuff repair last November. I was prescribed Norco postoperative. The Norco was quite helpful for the ts-hds neuropathy pain in addition to helping post operative pain. I have extreme pain 8-9 if I do anything physical and for days afterwards. I think if I could take 1-2 Norco pills a day I could do things. I am already taking Lyrica , Cymbalta, and IVIG for another condition.

Back in the day when my neuropathy was so painful my doctor put me on the fentanyl patch for something else, but it helped my neuropathy tremendously. I also took 10 mg Norco. Neither med got rid of all the pain, but they sure did help.

2 ReactionsI do have Neuropathy from TSHDS antibodies as you do. I am currently on Lyrica & IVIG therapy. I have found that hydrocodone can help, but it also adds in other side effects such as constipation. This constipation may be easy to deal with the beginning, but not overtime. I actually took hydrocodone for pain in my right hip due to a bad hip replacement. It did enable me to relax however, the price of side effects was too difficult . I quit the hydrocodone completely and feel better as a result. If there’s a need for it again later on, I will return if it’s helpful.. hydrocodone in general is not good for nerve pain. I have however, been taking of late and RSO/THC combination to help with neuropathic pain . A patient recommended it on this chat . The juries out as to how it helps.
Hello,
I have had good success for my idiopathic neuropathy, radiculopathy and also frozen shoulder using Nucynta which recently went generic. (Tapentadol) Depending on insurance it can be pretty pricey. Some will deny it altogether. You may need to go through a pain management doctor. I hope you get some relief soon!
Three months after my back surgery the pain in my lower legs was so intense at night that I couldn't sleep. The pain doctor started me on Nucynta. It helped me sleep through the night. Between taking oxycodone and putting ice packs on my lower limbs, I managed to get some sleep. It's been a year since my surgery and I still have neuropathy in both lower legs and feet but less pain, just lots of numbness and tingling. I wear light compression socks all day long until I take them off before bed. This helps a lot with my walking and balance. I've been having acupuncture treatments twice a week for the past three months. Unfortunately, it isn't helping. I just read about Neuropathy CET Treatment (combined electrochemical therapy) in another post. I'll look into it and see if it's appropriate for my condition.
NORCO or whatever they call it today used to be Vicodin which was helpful however, now they have changed it so that it is not as strong. 800 ibuprofen works better. they keep changing the name of drugs and the potency

The ibuprofen caused a GI BLEED and landed me in the hospital for six days.
