No hip. Prosthesis removed
After 4 total hip revisions of the right hip over several years I developed mrsa and the prosthesis was removed. It took almost 3 years to cure the mrsa. Hip number 5 wasn't possible. The leg is almost 4 inches shorter than the left one. Has anyone else had this issue?

Basically. In the original procedure it is bone removes...the ball, or head and some of the femur. In my case I was on my fourth prosthesis so all hardware was removed. Every revision causes loss of some of the femur. Mine was cracked. So total leg length was reduced by nearly 4 inches. I want to say that there is no pain. And thanks to an orthpedic oncologist I can actually put weight on it and stand and walk with a walker, due to strong scar tissue. But maximum shoe lift allowed is 3 inches so Im still "crooked" and kave back pain when I walk.
