Good morning I am new to this disease. I was diagnosed with Mac November this year. I am on the three cocktail regiment. I’ll be receiving physical therapy and have ordered a nebulizer for the albuterol and sodium chloride regiment. In addition I have a percussion vest called Avvflo that is used twice daily with 3 10min modes. I’ll be seeing a nutritionist on January 5th for suggestions for weight gain and foods to help with building up my lost muscle mass . I’m hoping the nutritionist will shed some light on items that will assist in weight gain as some of us know our appetites and the volume in which we can handle is quite different now. Also plays havoc with breathing as it takes a lot of energy.

Good morning. It sounds like your medical team is on top of things with airway clearance, respiratory therapy and a nutritionist. Are you doing a probiotic along with the big 3? Hope you are tolerating them well. Hearing, vision and blood work is regularly monitored while on the meds. The other device you might want to look into is the Aerobika to add to your airway clearance practice. There is also an app called autogenic drainage which is helpful with breath work and huff coughing. You will find lots of good information on this site with everyone sharing things they have learned during this journey. Finally are you seeing both a pulmonologist (BE specialist) and an infectious disease physician?

No probiotic just taking Mullein Leaf 1 500mg capsule for respiratory function.
Yes I see pulmonologist, ID Dr as well. Yes bloodwork scheduled and CT’s will as well for observation etc. Had baseline hearing and eye Dr clearance prior to starting on meds. No real side effects, a few might sweats no severe, orange urine which is very temporary.

@ptalese116 Wow....sounds like you learned a great deal on your own about many of the things you have mentioned or being suggested/done by the medical professionals you are seeing. and that you are doing. ,,,,,So....I am curious...where are you, who are you seeing etc. meaning the names of the doctors and the medical facility's involved. Hope you don't mind my asking...it would be good information for this site and others.
Sounds like they have a great team with a great routine/process in place.

Recently diagnosed with BE. I've had dozens of respiratory infections for more than 10 years and lots of coughing and treatment was for asthma and outdoor allergies. Had radiation treatments after breast cancer surgery last April and coughing became chronic. More antibiotics and x-rays. CT scan showed cloudy lung mass under treatment area. Broncoscopy to remove and test, but lungs are now scared. No one mentioned BE or gave me any treatment plan! Told to use nebulizer and inhaler during an exasperation. This last one during Christmas is hanging on and severe. Reading all your posts is helping me find my way and get a new doctor.

@blm1007blm1007 Hi Barbara, I’m being seen at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. They have an infectious disease department and a department solely devoted to Bronchitis.
