Newbie: Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I just discovered this wonderful site. But I'm a little confused. I don't understand the dozens of acronyms. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

About me: age 75, 6 months ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. Metastasized to my bones, lower spine, left hip and one rib. Over the winter I recieved 6 chemo treatments. I am also on orgovex and nubeqa. Next week I'll have a PET scan to determine where l am now.

well you are welcome here..finding this site last yr helped me immensely..lots of good knowledge here..I am also Stage IV ( 2 pelvic lymph nodes) and been on orgovyx and nubeqa for 9 months...

share anything you want here...we are all fighting the same battle...good luck !

Orgovyx and nubeqa, strong side effects for me. I was taking them both in the morning. 4 days ago l switched to nubeqa in the morning and orgovyx at bedtime. The side effects have calmed down a little. Does anybody else do it this way?

@sww50, welcome newbie. Let me show you around a bit.

I see @mjp0512 shared the link to the prostate cancer abbreviations listing:
- Prostate cancer-related abbreviations: What acronym would you add? https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/prostate-cancer-related-abbreviations-what-acronym-would-you-add/

There are a lot of abbreviations, which can be hard to navigate as a newbie. There's a steep learning curve with any new diagnosis. But once you get integrated into the club no one wants to join, you'll start slinging around the acronyms like PSA, NED, ADT, like the best of them.

As you get started, you'll find the group search function will help you find topics relevant to your questions. For example, here are all the discussions related to "orgovyx and nubeqa" https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/discussions/

@sww50
I take half Nubequa (plus Calcium and E3 Vitamins) at 7am with breakfast before gym. Then half Nubequa with Orgovyx (plus Calcium) at 7:00 with dinner. Bed but 9:00. Feeling tired is my biggest side effect. Lots of time in the gym to counter that feeling - every day.

Hi,
Sounds like you’re on the right track, the PET scan should provide you with info on your next/continued path. Has anyone mentioned some form of radiation treatment in your future to kill your existing bone cancers?
