New opportunity for romance

Yet another benefit of PCa: it opens doors to new encounters.

We just finished travelling overseas, and to be on the safe side I used an absorbent pad in my underwear in case I ever found myself away from a bathroom for more than an hour. I have to say that it gave me peace of mind, even though I never really had to use them. There were a few close calls, though.

Of course, no one else knew--except my spouse--that I was wearing a diaper. Until it came time for the airport security check.

After getting scanned in their big vertical MRI tube, I was pulled aside and told that there was an irregularity in my scan. The nice young men (this happened on two occasions, both here in the U.S. I had learned the word for "diaper" in Portuguese, but I never got to use it) discretely showed me the computer screen, and there it was: an unmistakable glowing red square covering my private parts. I immediately confessed my medical condition, and they looked sorry and spoke to me in hused tones as they adjusted their rubber gloves. "We can do this in a private room if you prefer," they offered. I looked at my spouse, and I decided that after 35 years of conjugal fidelity there was no sense in having any private affairs now, so I said "let's just do it right here."

So I stood there, took a deep breath, and decided to try to enjoy it right in front of spouse and God and everybody. They explained in careful professional detail where they were going to pat me down with the back of the hand and with the front.

It was a short and impersonal affair. I never even knew their names. It wasn't bad, but not really good for me, either. I didn't bother to ask if it was good for them, and they just waved me on when they were finished, without making eye contact, as if I were just another john.

So I guess I can cross "get felt up by a strange man in public" off my bucket list.

@heavyphil
I think if Surf had a banana down her pants, we'd all have questions for her.
