New onset ‘hot flashes’ years after menopause

Posted by sbrown293 @sbrown293, Jun 21 6:20am

I have recently started experiencing ‘hot flashes’ in the early morning hours (3:00 to 4:00 a.m.). I’m 72 years old. Saw my provider yesterday, and she looked as surprised as I am. Requested thyroid level be checked. Also have had a few heart palpitations soon after lying down. Searching for answers.

It could be your thyroid or unbalanced overall female hormones. Maybe a hormone panel test will help. I do bioidentical hormones, but since I have changed doctors I started to spot and that is also a problem for an almost 70 yo woman. So I’m in the search for answers also if anyone can help. Thanks

I am in need of help also with my hormones/postmenopause. I am 61 yrs old and I am in Postmenopause. I just started to get hot flashes, sweats, anxiety and high blood pressure 140/88. My normal heart rate is usually 120/80. I have hashimoto's so my thyroid levels are normal.
