New NAION Diagnosis. Should we come to Mayo?
My 63 y.o. husband was diagnosed with NAION 2 days ago. He lost vision in right eye 1 1/2 years ago; NeuroOpthalmalogist told us there’s no treatment. Three weeks ago he lost partial vision in left eye. MRI shows no brain lesions, but he has had visual, auditory and tactile hallucinations over last two weeks. Also has a complex medical history with heart disease, spinal stenosis, depression and anxiety. Am wondering if a trip to Mayo is warranted for the hallucinations, if nothing else.
