New Dr different diagnosis
Hello everyone. I had written a month ago or so that I was trying to find a new doctor that deals with blood issues/cancers. Yay found one in Fort Worth. Got my referral and my appointment and went in Thursday. Liked her and she reviewed my bone marror biopsy, which unfortunately is from July 2022. I had been diagnosed then with MDS and she said she thinks it should be Myelofibrois. I will look it up more but little I saw it almost looks like the same except for the fibrois. With that said, I will go back for another blood test in two months. I will still be on the watch and wait plan. So if anyone has any pointers or thoughts I'd love to hear them.
Happy 4th of July and God Bless one and all.

Hi Hollie,
In my experience with chronic eosinophilic leukemia, it was brought to my attention that not every hematologist/oncologist is an expert in every blood cancer so you want to make sure you’re going to someone who considers themselves an expert in your specific cancer. Also even if your current doctor is an expert in your cancer, I would highly recommend that you get a second opinion from another expert is your type of cancer. I know MD Anderson in TX is very highly regarded. I wish you all the best on your journey. -Deb
Thank you for your input. I started with one dr who was recommended due to low platelets and after several poor results i had the bone marrow analyst which was determined I had MDS by another oncologist hematologists. The reason I sought out the new Dr is because all the others specialize in other cancers. So hopefully this will be the start of a good relationship.
