How can they stop or prevent frequent nosebleeds with Multiple Myeloma other than cauterizing.

@mayo1969 Nosebleeds can be troublesome, no doubt about it.

Here is what Cleveland Clinic has to say about nosebleeds in general, and treatment: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/13464-nosebleed-epistaxis
As you can see there are some ideas to consider, like dry air, or irritants, that might help those nosebleeds to start.

Are you getting frequent nosebleeds? What has your medical team mentioned about them, and how to treat them?

My hubby has MGUS, a potential precursor to Multiple Myeloma, and has been having nosebleeds -- even after having cauterization two weeks ago. Can you please tell us how MM causes nosebleeds? Any links??

Hi @grrranny. When I had leukemia, I didn’t realize at the time, but one of my first symptoms was nose bleeds. They were miserable so I really empathize with your husband!

When there’s a change in blood numbers, such as a reduction in platelets or higher levels of proteins in the blood, it can cause bruising and nose bleeds.

I found 3 good articles for you in information on MM.
