Nerves in one finger perceiving things in ear that other fingers don’t

Has anyone had any experience with this specialty? I’m due to see a neurologist at the end of August. I have a problem that may have a ray risen from a case of shingles. I had last December I know now have a neurological problem with my left ear. I am feeling things in my ear that when I pull them out, they’re not there it nobody can see anything, but I can feel it.

Hopefully the neurologist can help pinpoint your symptoms or refer you to someone who can help you.

I’ve had this for a year now. No one can help. I just saw a Neuroctologist and although he is familiar with the symptoms, they have no treatment. He sees symptoms only about once a year. It’s the opinion that the only thing left to me is CBT training. Are there any medical people out there who have any thoughts on this? Truthfully, I have just about given and am quite depressed.

@nodine4, You mentioned in another post that the neurologist recommended Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). There are quite a few discussions and members who have discussed CBT. Here's a list of the discussions and comments if you want to look through them - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/?search=cognitive+behavioral+therapy.

Am I correct that you only feel things in the left ear with one specific finger on one hand?
