Neuropothy and vitamins deficiency

Darrel. 67 yo male alcoholic. I have perifial artery disease. In the last 9 mos developed perifial neuropathy among other symptoms. Blurry vision, fatigue, wasting, and so on. Through searching online discovered thiamine deficiency! Fron alcohol misuse. And discovered benfotimine form of thiamine. Easily absorbed and distributed! 1 month in neuropathy gone, depression, irritability gone, gaining weight and feeling great. Recent blood test normal. Oh I have been taking nac for 1.5 years!

I didn’t know alcohol was a risk factor. I enjoy a glass of wine on Friday night and one on Saturday night. I don’t smoke, do illegal drugs or eat junk food. So, for me it’s a trade off.

I drank a lot more than that. More like 5-6 glasses per night. You are probably healthy? I have ALS a very difficult progressive disease.

I think I’m pretty healthy. I have my issues, but they are improving. Thanks for asking.

I am sorry to see you are dealing with ALS. That must be a lot of work.
