Neuropathy treatment using Alpha Lipoid Acid infusions:
My naturopathic doctor is recommending Alpha Lipoid Acid infusions for treatment of peripheral neuropathy, which I'm experiencing in my ankles, calves and feet. Has anyone had the infusions and have the infusions been helpful?

I take oral alpha lipoic acid and think it is helping. I cannot be sure but I just bought some more! Infusions of course would be more potent. I would really appreciate hearing if the infusion helps!

Thank you for the information you provided in the link above. It was very helpful. I plan to start IV infusions in a couple of weeks. I will report the results on this website.

3 ReactionsI currently use Alpha Lipoic Acid for my foot cramps due to peripheral neuropathy. It was usually happens during the night hours. Since I began taking it I find I am not having any issues. I have told several of my doctors NP’s about it and they knew nothing of this product. If you have thyroid issues it warns NOT TO TAKE. I find it’s helps me a great deal. I am willing to try anything to to relieve my neuropathy. As I see it my future looks bleak. The burning, numbness and tightening in my feet and ankles is severe.

2 Reactions"The burning, numbness and tightening in my feet and ankles is severe"..... I hear you and I've tried almost everything. I even tried a trial Spinal Cord Stimulator. It worked very well at reducing the pain (I also have sciatic nerve damage). I will have the permanent SCS shortly. I want my life back. Good luck debeve, hope you find your solution.
Germany has been using the infusions since 1959 with great luck. I pills to not work as well.

That’s great information and good to hear. Thank you
I have just finished a 20 infusion series IV Alpha Lipolic acid.. it took 13 infusions before I begin to be sure that I was getting results. I feel like my neuropathic pain is about 25% of what it was when I started.
The provider is in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My pain was on the very edge of making me dread the future with it… getting worse by the month so I am thrilled that this has helped. I think I will probably have more at least once a year.
