Eliminating Foods for Neuropathy pain
I have tried doing without certain foods and drinks containing caffeine and have discovered it helps me to lower my neuropathy pain to a level that is tolerable. It is not easy to eliminate chocolate, tea, and coffee from my diet.

Dairy products do correlate with inflammation. My neuropathy is autoimmune disease caused, so I limit dairy to half cup low fat yogurt with breakfast and occasional hard cheese.
The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has a lot of nutrition and diet resources -

I have familial tremors. I switched to decaf. No change at all.
I think I’ve come to the same conclusion, but generally stick with my half cup as it interacts with my immunosuppressive meds. Since I’ve been really strict on an antiinflammatory diet I think that has helped some, plus being able to reduce my meds. I have found stress definitely exacerbates my tremors too.
I type a lot for work, so that’s a continuing struggle. I bought an Apple Magic Keyboard which helps me to at least type a little faster, plus I’m practicing more voice recognition as well. I keep dropping things though, which is very frustrating!
Let me know if you find anything that helps…
My heart goes out to you. I have many of the same problems. Retired early because of pain meds for neuropathy. I can hardly type anything because my fingers are all over the board.
I have an iPad mini which I use to type all initial documents. I can then use the MacBook to finish them. With the iPad I hold my hands steady with my pinkie fingers on each side, then use my index fingers to type. I have arthritis so it does get painful at the end of some days, but it works to manage the tremors.
I’m too young to retire, but had to resign my full time job, so it’s a struggle to find work I can do. So far I can deal with the neuropathy and back pain without meds until the late afternoon. I’m sorry you were forced into retirement. I get resentful that my 30 year professional life came to an end due to my illnesses.
If you can afford an iPad mini I recommend it. Voice recognition is excellent and with practice the typing goes quite well. I hope you can find some joy in retirement.
Thanks for the tip! Good luck with the job hunt.
Eliminating gluten has helped my small fiber neuropathy. Also, I need to watch sugar intake.
What is small fiber neuropathy?
