Neuropathy or neurotoxicity symptoms

Posted by burt @burt, Jul 21, 2018

I am a male in my late thirties about two months ago I started experiencing peripheral & autonomic neuropathy symptoms. The night it started I had a burning and tingling sensation in both arms. The next day I had difficulty using my hands, tinnitus, nausea, and vertigo. After a week this passed and my arms got numb and tingly again as well as my feet and legs. I started to lose the ability to sleep. I would wake up with sweating with heart palpitations at around 2 A.M. and 5 A.M. During the third week my heart rate and blood pressure started becoming un regulated

@brendalouise

My neuropathy started shortly after my last Covid shot. I will not get the latest booster because I am afraid my symptoms may worsen.

Would anyone who has developed neuropathy after a Covid vaccine tell me which vaccine you received?

What meds are you taking? I have a page long list of neurotoxic medications after being diagnosed with charcot Marie tooth disease. I was done in by Lipitor which was on that list.

@burt This sounds exactly like what I am going through, same tests results and symptoms.

I realize this post is old but if there is any update or way we can get in touch I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi @steve3474, Welcome to Connect. I'm hoping @burt can provide an update for the benefit of all of us who are following the discussion including you. It sounds like you have also had a lot of tests. Has your doctor or neurologist mentioned any diagnosis yet?

Hey sorry to hear about the neuropathy. I found out I nearly broke my neck and got cervical instability and some spinal cord damage. It has been six years it got alot better. Best to stay off Google I know it is scary as hell, but worry makes it worse. I can answer what I can.

@johnbishop no diagnosis at this point, I've seen half a dozen neurologists some of which were neuromuscular and the MRI for brain/neck/spine, EEG/EMG/NC/blood tests all come back fine. But my story is quite similar to Burt's especially the no sleeping part which is brutal, just waking up one day with burning arms and it has gone downhill rapidly in the last 3 months.

@burt what test ended up indicating the issue with your broken neck? This didn't show up on the MRI you mentioned in your first post? Just curious what your turning point or journey was.

I found this post because I was doing a lot of spray painting the month this happened, and like you said Google instantly makes you think the worst about your prognosis for toxins. Symptom checking is awful.

@steve3474 My neck didn't break but the ligaments and muscles stretched and no longer maintained proper alignment of the vertebrae. I don't know if instability is accepted as a real condition by the medical community or not but it seemed to fit with the neck trauma and the symptoms. I got what was called a digital motion x-ray (dmx) basically instead of a single shot it is a video x-ray of the neck in motion. I've read you get a lot of radiation from the procedure. I had to get it done at a chiropractor as I don't think any normal medical facility does them. I did learn that a 3 position upright MRI of the neck can be used now. From the DMX the doctor compared my neck motion to healthy norms that had been conducted and found my vertebrae shifted out of place putting pressure on the spinal cord which caused the symptoms.
