Neuropathy feet ? Gabapentin
Started 100 mg last night gabapentin for feet and neuropathy and lower back. Bottle says every 12 hours I intend to only want something for nighttime care because I take supplements I like in the daytime as herbal for my adrenal’s and menopause. I only wanted to do it once a day is that OK? Understand is prescribed us twice, but some articles say it’s for nighttime because of preventing daytime drowsiness?

1 ReactionI have found that taking a CBD/THC gummy around 8 pm allows me to sleep through the night, with one trip to the bathroom. It's wonderful.

5 Reactions@clee1946 I use Cymbalta in AM and Gabapentin in PM.
Feet nerve pain means that those nerves have lost a lot of their insulating myelin.
Vitamin c makes our nerves. Vitamin B12 coats them with insulation. Stomach acid extracts B12 from animal protein. But seniors have less acid, so we need to take B12 supplement. And seniors eat very little animal protein. Liver and mussels are the best source
Try METHYLCOBALAMIN , that's B12. But sorry. alcohol stops absorbtion.
Go for it . Am 83.5 with no nerve pain. Or joint pain
I only take 100mg of Gabapentin at night (since January 5th) so I can sleep without electric sharp pains in my feet. My script is for 200mg but it made me too drowsy in the morning. I don’t like the Gabapentin except it does make me sleep. My feet and toes hurt every day all day and night. I bought new shoes for better comfort and 1/2 size bigger. Seeing my neurologist this week and might consider Cymbalta but not sure it if helps with sleeping. And don’t want to take 2 separate meds for neuropathy. Already taking 2 to 3 antibiotics daily for lung mycobacterium abscessus. I am open to any suggestions. Thank you. Take care.
@janetannfaust Some bottles of Cymbalta are being recalled due to a possible cancer risk. Be very careful what you get and always check the medicine recalls page.
Thank you for the important information.
I have taken generic Cymbalta 60mg every morning for years. Add generic Lyrica 50mg twice daily 18 months ago. Added a third dose of pregabalin several months ago. I started taking 25mg of trazadone nightly to sleep when my husband was dying. I sleep well, half hour nap mid afternoon. I may have to back off the Lyrica though as I am experiencing stomach issues. I have anti-mag neuropathy, among other weird issues. I hope this helps (76years old)
@clee1946 I have tried gabapentin 300 mg twice a day, pregalin, etc with no results or drowsy feeling. Neurologist recommended some expensive capsaicin foot wraps used only in clinic but i declined. My feet and toes hurt at night as well. I take some sleep med so
I don’t feel the pain at night. Awake my right foot is much more affected. Poor balance and have to restrict my activities. EMG showed severe neuropathy. I’m
Out of self help . Hands tingling mainly right hand and my preferred use. Any suggestions?
