Neuropathy and digestive issues

Anyone experiencing problems swallowing that could possible be related to neuropathy ? How about nausea? Any replies woukd be appreciated. Thanks. Cathy

Do any of the symptoms, in the link above, align at all with what you are experiencing?

I have dysmotility which means that the my food takes longer to go down but it gets there. I have IBS as well although that is mild. The worst is the neuropathy in my my feet and legs.

Hi @mcd123 – The swallowing problems could be related to neuropathy according to this study from 2020.

" Symptoms of lower extremity peripheral neuropathy and difficulty swallowing were collected by self-report. "

I know you've mentioned in another discussion that you have had neuropathy for many years and it's gotten progressively worse along with increased medications. Have you tried any alternative or complementary therapies?

They are correct for me. But I’m not a diabetic and everything is painful. From the top of my back all down my legs. Nothing has helped.

Lyrica does not work for me. Gabapentin seems to cause shaking and seizures.

i have small fiber neuropathy and have indigestion and a lot of gas but worse is bowel and bladder problems from the nerve damage mine is caused by an abnormal group of blood cells called mgus and an antibody called tshds which is rare
