Has anyone benefited from treatment claimed by Neuropathy Clinics?

Has anyone benefited from the neuropathy treatments claimed by clinics! I see advertisements on television saying there is help for people who sustained 15% or less nerve damage. Most insurance plans cover the cost including Medicare. I called the clinic to learn more information. The clinic does an initial exam to determine the percentage of nerve damage. They offer help to resolve the neuropathy through a series of visits incorporating exercises. They will determine how many visits to the office will be needed for therapy from the start. I was just curious if anyone has tried this.

I tried a similar treatment program. The people were very nice. It included hyperbaric oxygen chamber 2x week, infared light boot to use at home, electrostimulation in office 1 x week, ultrasound tx 1 time a week. Supplements and nutriental recommendations geared towards diabetes which i do not have. Cost was to be $3,000 for whole thing paid in 2 payments, after 1st payment and 6 weeks of treatment there was no change. They seemed very disappointed I saw no improvement and they allowed me to drop out and not make second payment.

Was 6 weeks the expected time frame for positive results? Why not let you continue treatment for free?

I went to a promotional meal and was told that Stem Cells would help (he said "cure") some PN. He admitted that it wouldn't help if a nerve was pinched by a narrowed facet, but he was pushing stem cells for foot drop that originates below the knee. Other clinics only claim 2 or 3 years of relief and the cost is $5k - $25k.
There is a doctor in FL with a YouTube video on curing foot drop with hydro dissection. It is not covered by insurance and I haven't found any corroborating evidence of cure.
The Peripheral Neuropathy Foundation sends info for studies once-in-a-while. I have seen nothing that made me want to part with my money.

They would not have continued for free and they seemed to think I should have seen some type of change but I felt no change. I have no pain just feeling of tight stocking on my feet and they mainly said the treatment was to reduce pain. The sticking feeling has progressed up my legs in the past year but still no real pain. For those who have pain my heart goes out to you.

Sorry it didn't help. Yeah I have the sensation you described plus burning, shooting and stabbing pain, nonstop, for years.
It's paradoxical, feet are numb as can be and, yet I can feel pain, though my feet aren't hurt.
I'll continue the treatment and pray it helps.

I sure hope it helps you. Maybe full amount of treatment will make the dif. The numbness is odd. Even though I think my feet are numb I can feel even the slightest piece of dirt in my shoe or on the floor. Best of luck and let us know if it works

I believe the take away from this conversation is that neuropathy is not curable. But, what I found helps me live with it (for 17 years) is diet, exercise, and Gabapentin. All the hype of the clinics advertised is I believe is not worth the money.

Here's some testimonies from a local provider. A few say it has helped but I suspect most were not impressed.

“feet are numb as can be and, yet I can feel pain”

Exactly. I’ve had podiatry procedures where they cut away contusions and pulled out a toenail… didn’t feel a thing, no anesthetic.

And then I stand to walk and both feet are on fire, feel bruised, and feels like I just walked 20 miles.

I am not saying that the treatment centers don’t work. I have tried several things that work temporarily. Once you stop treatment the symptoms will return.
