I am going to try this foot doctors Laser Therapy This is what he say on his page :We are proud to be on the medical technological forefront by offering MLS Laser Therapy as a treatment for Neuropathy. This treatment uses wavelengths of light to treat painful and debilitating conditions. This treatment is given to our patients to help manage the pain from Neuropathy. MLS Laser Therapy helps Neuropathy by releasing endorphins that reduce pain, reduces swelling, increases blood flow and stimulates repair and regrowth of nerve tissue. It cost $650 for 13 treatments but he told me if I do not feel any relief after 2 or 3 treatments he will refund my money, so I figure what do I have to loose. I will let yall know how it goes. I am in so much pain I do not care how much it cost, He also put me on some Hormones plus supplements.
I was just searching to see if there are any MLS Light Therapy options for the Eau Claire, Wisconsin areas or even the Rochester MAYO as it says that MLS Light Therapy has been FDA approved. Might check out Aspirus to the east of us as they just bought our Stanley, WI hospital and Clinic recently. Maybe I should call Humana Medicare A B insurance to find out. I've had this debilitating pain ever since a sharp debridement was done on my venous ulcer a few years ago. It completely healed up, but the pain was exactly the same as when the wound was open. Now I have wounds again. Sure would like to try it. Especially if medicare approves it after the recent FDA approval.

I have used cold laser therapy for my neuropathy and carpal tunnel syndrome. The instrument is FDA approved and is at some physical therapy places and chiropractors (so check your insurance). There have been studies done, the therapy has been found to be effective after at least 4 weeks @2x.
I also take a prescription called Metanx for nerve health. With both of these and exercise, my goal is to hopefully reduce the rate of the spread of the neuropathy.
When you call to see if either laser is covrred; ask if they (or better yet, a supervisor) can suggest for what can be done for chronic (use an adjective of your choice) nerve pain, that is causing unnecessary stress, interferes with your everyday life, and has greatly reduced your ability to sleep through the night.
Hi @mikween, It sounds like you met with the doctors that do the foot drop operation and they said it had been too long? I know you must be really disappointed and rightly so. Did they offer any kind of treatment that will help?
I have foot drop in my left foot and was prescribed a brace to hold my foot up. The brace was fitted to my shoes and goes under the insole and then goes up the back of my leg and is connected around my calf. When I change shoes, I change the brace to the shoe I am wearing that day. Now I have no more tripping from foot drop!

Did you have the surgery from the Dr. in Las Vegas? There are only three that are mentioned, with one in Boston, One in Omaha, and the one in Las Vegas. No other surgeons or surgeries are effective in helping with this chronic pain. However, they really should catch up as they said it is the same decompression surgery as is so commonly used for Carpal Tunnel Release for the hand or wrist issues.
