Can a second neuroendocrine tumor just show up in another part of the body or is it automatically metastatic?

Hello @davidclark and welcome to Mayo Connect. This is a question best answered by an oncologist who has performed a biopsy on the second NET tumor. Please share if you will, a bit of your history wth NETs so that you can be connected with others who have had a similar experience.

Will you be having a biopsy in the near future?

I'm not a Dr, but I Play one on the internet.
I think the answer is yes.
The cancer is attracted the blood sources in the body. That's why it shows up in the liver a lot.

Hi @davidclark, did your cancer team determine if the new tumor is a second primary NETs or metastatic spread? How are you doing?
