Anyone have good results from natural blood sugar lowering treatments?

Hello @lvon, I loved the way you described yourself in your profile - "facing aging with a smile and a sword, fighting for all that is still possible.". I struggle with the sugar question every morning when I make my first cup of coffee - does it come with a cookie or not today? 🙃 I'm guessing you may be in the pre-diabetes category that I have fought with most of my adult life until deciding I had to take better care of myself a few years ago. I'm 82 now and still working on it. Mayo Clinic has some good tips here:

What really helped me was learning about intermittent fasting and low carb health fat eating. You might want to check this discussion on the topic:

Hoping you have a great day.

Hi 👋 . About the same as John, but my A1C is just about borderline pre-D. My doc keeps telling me to get it down or he's gonna prescribe Met. I do no carbs and no sugars (some fruit). Cookies or no, it won't go down to the teen-age number below 100, even with lots of heavy physical activity.
There are other factors: genetics, cortisol, stress, etc. so don't beat yourself up, just do what you can, and stay away from the snake oil salespeople. Good luck.
Same with cholesterol, some can eat anything, and some totally fat free are way up on LDL and triglycerides 🤷‍♂️

@lvon it’s true! “sugar free” does taste more sugary than regular sugar! That is why I avoid all “diet” pop and “sugar free” stuff! Fortunately I do not have a sweet tooth so don’t miss desserts or pop when I can’t have it!
