Need help with oral ulcers
I haven't had any symptoms from behcet's for 2 years. The oral ulcers hit quickly and there are several. Before I used triamcinolone dental paste and it worked pretty good but now it doesn't. Need recommendations for something new to try. Thank you

There are more potent and effective topical steroids
now in use. Also steroid mouthwashes are available.
Inquire about a topical Hyaluronic acid 0.2 % gel and a new mouthwash specifically for Behcet’s patients.
Time to get reevaluated by an up to date oral surgeon
or dermatologist for management.
I think you should get to an allergy doctor for your mouth sores.
I have oral lichen planus for years. At first the doctors didn’t know what it was but they figured it out
Good luck
Hi,
I've had similar sores in my mouth over the years. What really helped me was Listerine, the original flavor, not the mint one. I rinse my mouth with it and sometimes just hold some on the sore spot. It tingles a little but it eventually takes the soreness away and heals it. I use Listerine everyday whether I have a sore or not. It seems to keep them away quite well.
I hope you can find something that works.

I have mouth ulcers as well and "Magic Mouthwash" really does work like magic. It is a compound mixed by your pharmacist. Good luck. And it is called Magic Mouthwash.
A doctor told me to use Tom children strawberry free of everything.
It worked for me. No new outbreaks for 2 years. Been trying to figure out when I started it. I have had a number of medical problems the last 3 years. It was in year 2 I started it.
Mouthwash don’t work for me. Most are full of dyes and alcohol which I can’t use.
Good luck.
Lidocaine Viscous !! Gel like substance that instantly takes pain away. Has a numbing effect. I have used this for years. I am 17 years out from stage 4 tonsil and tongue cancer. I have a lot of radiation damage to mouth. Very severe ulcers and burning pain. I was also diagnosed with herpes, I can’t hardly say that but it is caused by autoimmune diseases. It is not the kind that is contagious, it comes from within your body. All of us have this virus in our systems but our autoimmune system can not fight it off. It causes very painful ulcers in mucus membrane of mouth. After I was diagnosed with this I started acyclovir and the addition of that medication has helped tremendously. I know there is a stigma regarding that diagnosis, but ask for the test. I am the wife of physician and never in million years would believe I have that, but getting diagnosed was a godsend. You will have to contact OBGYN or some doctor who can run test. Good luck, we are all Blessed to be here no matter what we go through. Your Friend

I have Behect’s as well and just been diagnosed this last year. Mine is the reoccurring sores. My doctor has me on 5 mg of prednisone to help with outbreaks and keep it manageable. You could use Benzodent on the sores even if their on your tongue. You have to dry the sore out with a qtip then use a clean qtip to apply the paste. You can buy benzodent on Walmart website or Amazon. I’ve tried different mouth washes, tooth paste, you name it. This is the only stuff that helps with the pain and makes it easier to eat. Only other mouthwash that has works is the oral-B one designed for canker sores and magic mouth wash. If you have questions or just need someone to talk to feel free to reach out.
When I had oral lichen planus it wasn’t the corrosive kind but it still was painful. Very simply what I did was one time a day after lunch I would rinse my mouth out with salt water rinse. Lowers inflammation and helps with healing . another important thing that I learned is whenever you get toothpaste it’s very important to make sure does not have sodium LAUREL Sulfate in it. This compound can be irritating to your gums! I found for me I use Sensodyne ProNamel. Hope your gums feel better soon.
