Zoledronic Acid: I need feed back for this drug please
I just went on Monday and had my first treatment of Zoledronic Acid and that night I had a very high fever and felt so very sick I wasn't aware that this could happen I read all the paperwork but I was so very sick I was shacking from being so cold the next day I called the Dr and was told if I get the high temp again to go to the ER my question is has anyone else had this happen and does it happen every time you get the treatment I'll be getting this every 6 months thank you for any and all answers

The first time I had the Zoledronic acid I felt like I had the flu and was very tired. I slept all night and stayed in bed the next day, then I was fine. The next two times I had no reaction at all, maybe just a little tired. That was my experience. Good luck! 😀
@100154
I've only had one infusion and was pooped for a week, but I'm not good at drugs. One friend has had a number and she was affected for a week, then the next ones no problem at all. Side effects are flu-like feelings, fever, and fatigue.
I'd like to also bring @hockeymom25 and @mbear into this discussion. They talked about their experiences with Zoledronic Acid in this discussion a while back and may have more experiences to share today:

HI there, I too had a rough reaction that first time with chills, exhaustion and just down. The good news is, true to what they said I only had that reaction the first time. Every other time, I either had no reaction or just a little tired for a day or two. I've been getting every 6 months for about 3 years. Hope all goes well!
thank you thank you all for your input it has help Bless you all
@kathysway Hugs to you! Hang in there girl!
First time I had the treatment I felt like I had the flu and was tired for a day. I have had three more treatments and have no side effects! Hang in there!
I've had two treatment, both time mild flu like symptoms for few says. No high fever.
The Dr also told me not to have dental work around same time I have the infusions. Laurie
What is this drug and what do you take it for? I have never heard of it before.
@kathysway I had the exact same reaction. Ended up in ER. I now get a shot of Xgeva every 3 months. I have only a few aches for a few days after. Ask tour doctor if it's an alternative.
