Neck pain and mucus in throat

Posted by olgah @olgah, Oct 29, 2025

Hi there, I have been having neck pain specially on left side and mucus coming out from the same area for 5 months. Everything started after a physio therapist pressed on front of my neck doing myofascial release…I was diagnosed with muscle spasm and strain. But oddly I am still having these symptoms 5 months later! Not sure if there is a damage to throat and or mucus membrane. They did CT scan at ER which came back clear. Ultrasound showed increased thickness in SCM muscle on the left. Do you know what can be causing these symptoms and how to treat it?

@olgah Hi Olga, Sure, I can relate to thick, white-yellow mucus. It has improved a bit. Several months ago for about 2 months I was down with bronchial pneumonia so mucus was insane. It was rather embarassing in public. Just trying to find a clean washroom with paper towels is a massive feat. Luckily I have plenty of handkerchiefs and spit tub at home. I think the mouth heals in spurts. Some days I can conquer the world and others I just hide underneath the covers.
