Nebulizing with COVID

Posted by marciag1630 @marciag1630, 2 days ago

After avoiding COVID for 4 years, I finally tested positive yesterday. Can I continue to nebulizer with saline, given that you can’t clean tubing adequately even if you run compressor for 15 minutes after disconnecting neb and Aerobika.

Bummer about getting Covid after having avoided it successfully for so many years.

If it were, I, I’d definitely continue to nebulize and use the same tubing during the Covid episode. Once you test negative for Covid replace the tubing.

any idea how you finally caught it?

Probably taking my granddaughter to library storytime and not wearing a mask. Learned my lesson.

I blow the tubing dry for a couple of minutes each time I use it. I change the tubing monthly, but if you’re really concerned, you could change it weekly.

When I got Covid in 2021, I nebulized three times a day and I think it made a difference.

Thanks for your input, Linda.
I also blow the tubing dry each time I neb and change it monthly. So far I’ve just been using the Aerobika by itself. I’m on Paxlovid and have had all boosters including one 3.5 months ago. So far, it seems like a milder case. Again, appreciate your input.

Happy to hear you’re doing well. When you think about it, having lung disease gives us lots of tools when we get a respiratory infection. We have a tool kit that most people don’t have.
