Nebulizer cups
I'm trying to learn as much about this AWC as possible.
A lot of you sterilize your nebulizer cups by boiling, microwave, etc.
When I picked up my 6 month nebulizer cup at medical supply store, my cleaning instructions were to just soak in hot soapy water.
The extras I buy from Amazon have instructions in package.
The instructions are do not sterilize.
These I only use for a couple weeks then toss.
I'm afraid to boil my 6 month replacement cup because don't want to take chance of ruining it(melting?).
So many of you write about how the soaking breaks up the biofilm.
If the soaking and swirling breaks up the biofilm then wouldn't a good rinse in hot water be enough after the soaking?

It probably is for a few days. Some people boil daily, others let days go in-between. Depends on your disease state and comfort level. Hot water is not sterile water, whereas as boiling water is (10 mins).
I had similar concerns about boiling.
I was especially worried daily boiling would degrade the plastic. We spend a lot of time inhaling through plastics and microplastics are a thing.
But so far -- a couple months -- my plastic Aerobikas and AeroEclipses are holding up great with a daily boil. I guess they use some very special plastic for these re-useable parts.
I boil mine daily as well. Here's a protocol for cleaning that adopts the "take no chances" theory.
I soak in hot soapy tap water. I turned our hot water heater up to 140 degrees so be careful. I use dawn dish soap. I soak for 5-15 min. While that is soaking I start boiling distilled water in the instapot. Fill to 2/3 mark sauté button for 30 min normal (gets to rapid boil) add equipment in a silicone basket then sauté again and it goes for 10 min. I bought a Bololo baby bottle steam/dry sanitizer but as recommend in other protocol use dry only mode and store it there until next use.
If you do this way, we are always doing the very best way to keep equipment clean and free of introducing bacteria back into our equipment. Seems like a lot but not that bad once you get the hang of it. Just started doing this way a few days ago. Personally, I'm a take very little chances type of person. I am newly diagnosed about 2 weeks ago.
I also use the aerobika and ombra nebulizer with green cup.
