My vertebral column is crumbling- is there anything I can do ?

My vertebra are crumbling- is there anything I can do. I am a 65 yo female who has about any kind of weird autoimmune condition you can have. Eleven years ago I wanted to have a breast reduction to ease pain in my neck and shoulders. Going through the insurance steps I found out my cervical vertebrae were crumbling and pressing on my spinal cord. 5 vertebrae were cleaned out and replaced with cadaver bone, titanium plate and 8 screws. While I had the collar on the first lump came up from my stage 3 large B-cell non-Hogkin’s lymphoma. When they did my neck I was told my lower back would follow the same path. It is there and the pain is getting unbearable. I am allergic to pain meds. I also have a calcified herniated disk between T9-T10 and spurs up and down my column. Any suggestions? This pain on top of the fatigue is about to get me

I am so sorry for what you are going through. I wish I knew what you could do.

Are you doing any collagen? I started a few months ago, for bone-loss (diagnosed with osteoporosis). I also take Vit. C, D3, and Boron. The first two were recommended by my doc, and the Boron I read about online.

Your daily foods are important for most of our nutrients, and I don't do any alcohol, cigarettes, and very low carb Ketogenic nutrition. I am 70 and took up walking about 8 years ago, regularly, but added in the weight-resistance/working with weights. I've also recently read that "jumping" of some sort helps our bones. Nothing difficult, but whatever we can do like just standing and jumping a couple inches. I haven't started doing that, but I think, imo, walking is top of list for helping my bones.

Let me know if you want to talk, I'm no doctor, I just read and try things while listening "carefully" to my body. I'm maybe overly careful, but I can't afford an injury, who can right 😉 Denise

I have the same issues, c4-c7 replaced and fused in August of 2016. My bones were like dry wall, so had to have 8 rescue screws and a plate put in. Lower back, I was warned, was starting with some deterioration. I also walk a lot! Surgeons told me that was the best thing for the spine as it makes the blood pump through it. Yes, it is also good for the bones and other joints as well. I have been taking Vitamin K2 and if I haven’t been able to get outside because of weather it work, I will take a low dose D3 with it. I started taking the K2 because I had a higher than normal amount of calcium in my blood serum which means it’s not staying in the bones. After about 6 months my blood tests showed it finally in normal range! I am also trying to eat a lot healthier. Lots of salmon, tuna , chicken and tons of fruits and vegetables. Olive oil instead of vegetable oil and butters, etc. I hope this helps you. I also just had lung cancer removal almost 12 weeks ago, and breast implants explanted at the same time. Lots and Lots of walking! Best exercise after all of this!

I have HS which means I shouldn’t further plug my pores and SLE lupus which means I shouldn’t get out in the sun without 100% sunblock which means I don’t get the vitamin D from the sun. I am allergic to citrus or highly sensitive to the acids. I have chronic iron deficiency and give myself B-12 injections every month and have to get an occupational iron infusion. Being arthritic and having FMS means walking is hard for me but I am determined to start little by little. I also have just been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension with chronic diastolic LV heart failure - oh and am allergic to the world. Getting depressed

Are you being seen at Mayo? If not, something like Mayo, where you have a Team of doctors working together on all your issues?

It seems you have really researched what supplements to take for your bone health. Have you looked into Vitamin K2? The ones you want are MK-4 or MK-7….

I think I should have surgery on my back soon if needed because I also have been recently Dx with pulmonary hypertension and chronic diastolic heart failure with impaired left ventricle contraction. Does anyone know of a surgeon who could address all my problems either in Memphis or at Vanderbilt in Nashville. Would be about 2 1/2 hour drive for me either way
