My throat clicks

Posted by erikhusbands @erikhusbands, 3 days ago

Over a month ago I noticed my throat was crunching or clicking when I swallow. It didn't hurt much, but it was strange enough for me to go to the ER at The VA Fresno (at the advice of the advice nurse). Ct's, MRI's, etc and they sent me to the ENT on staff. She did a scope of my throat and found a piece of my hyoid bone had broke the skin and was in my throat. It was rubbing against my larynx. She referred me to the ENT at the Palo Alto VA. I had a video call with him and he clearly decided it was acid reflux. He adjusted my acid reflux meds and scheduled an appointment a month and a half later. Since then the pain has increased, the feeling of something stuck in my throat is awful, and now I can't sleep because I feel like I'm suffocating. These symptoms describe Clicking Larynx Syndrome. It's super rare, but these are my symptoms.

erikhusbands, I would seek out a 2nd ENT doctor's diagnosis, take your medical tests with you and bring up the
Clicking Larynx Syndrome with them.
