My kidney cancer returned. Want to hear others experience.
My right kidney was removed in Oct ‘22. In dec ‘22, the cancer metastasized to my lungs. I started cabometyx and immunotherapy in January ‘23. Since june ‘23 I’ve been in remission. In March ‘24 I stopped the immunotherapy but continue taking chemo pill. Last week my scans indicated my cancer is back. I plan on restarting my immunotherapy.
I would like to hear from kidney cancer survivors and their experience with their kidney cancer returning. Meds? Procedures? Tolerance?
I look forward to learning from you. Thank you!
Jody

I have an old Navy buddy who had a cancerous kidney removed this past February and is currently on Keytruda infusions, which he seems to be tolerating well.
Tim's kind if close-lipped about his condition, so I'm not sure what stage his is and whether he's ever had chemo. I'll ask.
Sorry to hear about your cancer returning. I know that's tough to face. Hugs to you!
There may be a separate group in Mayo Clinic Connect devoted to kidney / bladder cancer. I’m not sure. I know there are other cancer groups such as breast cancers and blood cancers. Hope you can find the information you need. My thoughts and prayers are going up for you.
@koke I am sorry to read that your cancer has returned. Not the news you wanted to hear, and now you are set on a different path again. What has your medical team discussed with you, so far?

I hope you will take the time to read through the different discussions and that they will help you gain some information to consider. Please met us know how we can help, and what your team discussed with you. When do you see them next?
