My Breathing/Allergy Protocol
Goal... Due to having several months of breathing/allergy and coughing problems, develop a natural protocol to avoid (wean off of) prescription drugs. I don’t know the absolute cause, just that the protocol I developed is doing the trick for me.
Everyone is different, but below is the protocol I developed over the past 60 days. This has reduced my breathing and coughing problems to a point where they don’t really interfere with my normal activities and sleep. Hope some or all of it helps other folks out there.
1. Sleep on back with head slightly raised
2. Drink caffeinated coffee if it's okay for your particular health situation (based on my reading, caffeine is a very good bronchodilator). I drink one cup of regular coffee at each meal, this has been VERY helpful for me. Max caffeine of 400 mg/day.
3. Do nasal inhaling as much as possible (fill diaphragm, then upper chest, then exhale via mouth). Do this as a breathing exercise several times a day and as needed
4. Easy start for all activities, wear N95 mask for yard care activities
5. Meditate and visualize your lungs (3 right lobes and 2 left lobes) renewing themselves
6. Avoid frigid air, harmful aromas (e.g., rubbing alcohol, chlorine), ingesting oral care products, and prolonged bending over
7. Have a daily 20–30-minute exercise routine (slow warmup, slow reps)
8. Stay hydrated (warm water is better), limit sugar, salt, gluten, and dairy
9. Use saline nasal spray and nasal rinse as needed
10. Take honey as needed for congestion relief
11. Breakfast et al:
Turmeric, ginger, and flaxseed on cereal or other main course,
Regular coffee
Long walk
Mid-Morning Snacks...
Orange, apple, nuts (almonds, walnuts), a bit of chocolate
12. Lunch and Dinner... besides protein include:
Regular coffee
Cayenne pepper
Garlic powder
Lots of orange-colored veggies and leafy greens
As I said, hope some or all of this helps other folks out there.

Sagan
P.S. I'm 80 years-old. BP 118/70, resting heart rate 68, oxygen 97%. All the best.

I'm 83 with IPF since 2013 and currently on oxygen, 4 ltrs. Trying to find more natural ways of treating my lung issues and found something that's really making me feel a lot better. Mullein drops in my water every day for about 3 months now and I can actually breath much deeper than ever before. Also have a lot less mucus, mostly in the a.m. but the rest of the day is much better.
It helps to expel the mucus if you do accumulate some. Also coughing a lot less all day and not at night at all. Cleveland Clinic has a write up about Mullein and they recommend it for inflammation, and cell protection because it has antioxidants. Also effective at fighting pneumonia, staph and E.coli bacteria.
I use Organic MULLEIN astragalus & licorice root - made by Nutra Harmony and it's on Amazon.
Always looking for natural things that work versus more drugs.

I'm very glad to find out about mullein and I'm very glad to hear about your progress. Keep it up. I hope all of this information helps others too of course. I'll be looking into mullein in more detail.
