@genevievee Most often this would be a small infection under the skin. Do you have any piercings in that area that could have allowed bacteria to migrate. If you have acne, it could also be that. If it has been there for a month or so it might be a good idea to have it looked at by your primary. If it is recent try to keep your fingers off and wait-poor blood supply there so healing can be slow.
You might try putting a mild anti biotic ointment on it such as Neosporin to take away the pain and soreness. However, Sue is right. See your primary care doctor about it. Pray about it also.
