Multiple Strange and New symptoms after Covid

Posted by jmac84 @jmac84, Mar 13 3:43pm

Id like to start this by asking are there others out there vaccinated versus not vaccinated STILL experiencing strange long covid symptoms? Do they appear to morph or change into more and more or do they seem like they are diminishing as time goes on? My mainstay longterm symptoms vary from constant eye floaters, dry stuffy nose, dry mouth, tingling on my face , eyelids, mouth and ears, abdominal pains, muscle aches, lymphadenopathy on right side of neck, arm pits and groin, and now what feels like proctitis and IBD/ulcerative colitis symptoms. The list keeps multiplying for me. Does ANYONE else experience these symptoms?

I believe Dr. Tam is in Minnesota.

I was in the Mt Sinai study for LC and cognitive impairment. Who is your superstar ENT? Do you live in NYC?

Yes, I do...my ENT is Satish Govindaraj. He's head of Rhinology at Mt. Sinai...but has offices in White Plains and Staten Island, too, so he's at East 85th Street only on Thursday and Friday. That said, they made time for me this morning...he's an all-around nice guy, apparently an excellent surgeon. Did the LC study yield anything positive for you specifically?

Hey very much so, it has affected so many organs over time. It was primarily my heart (2 years going on) and the last 6 months "it" finally made it into my CNS. 24/7 head pressure, almost feels like encephalitis, and I have neck pain, lower back pain, and perhipheral neuropathy. even that has changed. Neuropathy was mostly in my arms and turned into muscle burning. I swear my left arm has some visible atrophy too. It spread to the right arm eventually. And the last couple of weeks it has went into my legs with burning feet. It is so brutal. Blueish type hands at times too.

When I go to sleep it's all the worse.. the head pressure feels like I am having a pulling/drawing sensation in my forehead. Often difficult to open eyelids, particularly the left one, like it is in paralysis about to go into pre-stroke. It's very scrary.

Not to mention the fatigue. It limits my whole being and ability to get things done.
Right side kidney pain off/on.
More frequent cold sores and worse cold sores than I ever had. I've even had a couple of pimple like bumps appearing on my private when I've had cold sore outbreaks and hoping it is not spreading there.

Hair loss has been ongoing over a year. Also bad insomnia.
I get the dry eyes and dry mouth. One morning I woke up and my tongue felt like a reptile. Sleeping with Xylitol drops helps. Teeth have been impacted from the dry mouth.

It's like I can't win and nothing helps. All labs come back usually as "ok". The physical pain is turning into mental pain as the years go on. I'm pretty resilient person but all of this is starting to take the cake with me.

But yes, symptoms move around the body,. But it moves around and goes to different organs.

Hi there...so glad I found this Mayo forum! Can you share where the famous Dr. Tam is located? In DC Metro? My ENT is a superstar at Mt. Sinai in NYC but is only in the office two days a week!

Thanks for everyones comments and sharing their story. Its great to know that im not alone in this. Its amazing the amount of varying symptoms people are experiencing . I’m not sure of the demographics of most of the responses but i guess most of from women. It would be great to get an idea of how many men are also experiencing these long term symptoms. As i have said , im not even a 40 yr old man yet and was very healthy previous to covid. One added symptom is my palms and finger tips become wrinkly especially when im holding my phone for a while. Anyone else experience this?
