Good morning, @susanne1121 .

I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer this past September. I have metastasis to my skull, spine, ribs and pelvis. I also have a lesion on my liver.

This is all new to me, too. May I ask what symptoms you are having? Other than the usual pain, I am having urinary incontinence. Ugh. 🙈😩 However, a lady in another group here suggested a device that may well help me control it!

I’m taking letrozole and Ibrance.

I’m so grateful for this discussion site. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi, I was a 11 yr. breast cancer survivor. On Halloween I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer that has spread to my pelvis, femur and 4 places on my spine. I'm having my right hip replaced Monday, followed by radiation and oral chemo. I'm waiting to see what oral chemo I go on. How do I keep my bones from future fractures?

Sending you hugs @kimlockwood . Did you do chemotherapy and radiation 11 years ago?

REPLY

Thank you - I had 5 months of chemo and 7 weeks of radiation. I was on Tomaxifen for 5 years following my treatments and thought I was in the clear. Still waiting to hear what my oral chemo will be and how to keep my bone from becoming brittle!

I am in your same situation. I gave liver, bone d sad bd lymph node Mets. Started on Anastrozole,Ibrance and Zometa and am at my 3 month mark my pet scan shows the Mets are decreasing which is good news. The draw back are the side effects. The depression, fatigue and nausea are the worse but with meds are somewhat manageable. I take Claritin for my bone pain and it works well. Im 72, much older than you Cynthia but I understand what you are going thru. I had breast cancer 12 years ago so this is recurrent for me and treatable but not curable. Lots of thoughts clouding my brain these days. Praying the side effects calm down. Prayers for all of us going thru this. Maria
