mismatch repair-deficient (dMMR) related immunotherapy for fibroids?
Hello,
I have very large uterine fibroids, and am wondering if there are any studies related to this (or another) immunotherapy drug referenced in this article? (So I can’t post links…the drug was called “Dostarlimab, developed by the pharmaceutical company GSK and sold under the brand name Jemperli”)
The article stated that it’s effective against certain kinds of tumors, ones with the DNA mismatch repair deficient gene being active (dMMR ). If that gene is active in women with fibroids, it might mean this drug could work to reverse the tumors. I found an article suggesting that a disregulation of the immune response could be related to fibroid formation.
Is there any way to check if there is research into this, and if there are studies/new therapies I could try? My only other option at this point is surgery.
Thank you for your time,
Elbereth
