I worked on a farm in Florida I picked up a fungal parasitic infection. I've struggled to get a doctor to test me for anything finaly I was give a test sadly the one test I needed was not on it since then they have decided I'm having a mental disorder believing I have an infection and so not. I do have an infection called nosema from a form of microsporidia I believe a disseminated type
I asked for a referral was refused my doctor is not trying to help me I need some advice

Can you explain what symptoms you are dealing with, and how your diagnosis came about?
Is something preventing you from seeking out an infectious disease specialist on your own?

1. Go to a LabCorp or whatever independent testing lab in your area. Find out if they can do the test you want, how much it cost, and what they have to have to do it.
2. Call your insurance company let them know what is happening and that you are feeling unheard and attacked by your doctor and that this one test would allow you to feel comfortable with the diagnosis your doctor has stated. Potentially your goal is to get them to approve this one test.
3. Go to another Doctor for a second opinion. You can call your insurance yourself to get a second opinion approval. If they approve it you can at least get another opinion. I always try to get my second opinion in a different place. Like maybe the next town over so the 2 doctors are probably not affiliated.
It may not work out for you but you will have more information and maybe even the reason your doctor refused this test.
These are just ideas but they may give you some next steps.
Advocate for yourself because no one else will.

I went for a second opinion once, I told him I felt medically raped by the first doctor because when I said anything to him I got the feeling he thought I was insane. By the way I wasn’t. I was right. I’m 68 now but I was in my early twenties then and they just thought they could placate me.

I've been trying to get diagnosed for a while I had symptoms starting a year and a half ago... I started noticing odd ingrown hairs... They were out of place and surprisingly long... then I started experiencing best thing I can compare it to is nervous system aggravation. It's progressed over time. Started in my gut area proceeded to my noise. I have hard cyst in my noise. Eventually they will burst and a huge mess of black specs, tobacco looking specs Hair like clusters ranging from 4 to 5 differences from color to thickness length and even mixed like black-and-white together. Red, Black, even clear . At first it was typical 3 I noticed over time it lack of a better word morphed.

I've noticed seed looking things typically black or tan

Idk main things is I noticed my breathing in my noise has been ubstructed it was extremely clear when I had a large black mass of idk come out in one glob. Smell was horrible. Went away and nose feels like it's becoming obstructed again.

When one of these cyst burst its like an explosion... it get everywhere.

I having no concept of parasitic anything truly have been going threw everything

Seriously wading in this endless sea of information

I had hoped I would go to a doctor be asked a set of standard questions and at the very least have a thought out standard procedure or a standard knowledgeable doctor and if they did not know would send me to someone that did. That's where I first messed up.

So I've tried to get a second opinion hard to find openings, I found mayo clinic on line looking for labatorys so I was hoping I could sign up this way
I've presented my doctor with a semi local specialist she said she put the referral in bit warned they most likely wouldn't see me

My boyfriend actually found this sight all about worms that in the comments there was one person repeating same comment microsporiduim so I looked into it.. I've continued to read and it just matches unlike anything else to the duel infection area the explosion and many other things I've observed. Now I may not have the exact kind it may be one that mimics but I know I'm on to something

I asked my doctor to test me she looked up her data base for testing they don't offer it

So... and her reasoning is she doesn't want to do too much testing we've done one smear and it doesn't have this test

I APOLOGIZE if I come across short or idk just not relaxed it's been hard with the physical ailments to the lack of compassion and help I'm just between both so tired.
