I don't know if this'll help, but I had a fusion of the L5S1 in 2010 and I have inflammation in my back all the time. I drives me crazy because of the pain. I believe the weather/humidity has a lot to do with the inflammation as well. Have you spoken to the Orthopedic surgeon or Neurosurgeon regarding this?
I wish you all the best and hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving 😊 🦃
I had a microdisectomy/laminectomy in April 2025 on L5/S1 due to ruptured disc. This alleviated the excruciating pain shooting down my leg when I sat, stood or laid on my right side. However, I still have pain in my low back that runs down to the middle back of thigh. The pain doesn’t always follow the same path either. I have completed 25 PT visits which helped with regaining strength but not the pain. The more I move, bend, or sit, the worse the pain. I am researching alternative therapies or possible trigger point injections. Recent MRI doesn't show anything got worse. The Spine doctor and Neurologist think it is the sciatica nerve. I would love to hear if others have found improvement for this type of pain.
@nic12 I’m glad you have followed up with your surgeon and PT. Another possible source of pain is scar tissue. That can be stretched out with techniques called myofascial release. It is kind of like massage except the therapist holds the push against the tension and waits for it to subside. If you search, we have a discussion about myofascial release. There is a provider search at mfrtherapists.com. I have done a lot of MFR work and it helps s lot.
