Meningioma: Possible environmental causes
For those of you diagnosed with Meningiomas, could you indicate whether you regularly use hand sanitizers, and your history of receiving dental X-rays? Also what brands of shampoos/conditioners do you use?

It isn't clear what causes a meningioma. Experts know that something changes some cells in the meninges. The changes makes them multiply out of control. This leads to a meningioma. Being exposed to radiation as a child is the only known environmental risk factor for getting meningioma. It's only human nature to search for a cause when diagnosed with a brain tumor. "How could this have happened?" is a question that I think everyone must ask themselves.
@researcher0, have you recently been diagnosed with a meningioma?
The radiation oncologist I saw regarding my meningiomas asked me if I had ever been on estrogen therapy as there is a suspicion that may be related to either a cause or rate of growth.
Only regularly use hand soap. Do have dental x-rays each year. Shampoo is whatever wife uses. Nothing special.
Do not use hand sanitizer, have had x-rays once a year for my teeth only, but did have estrogen patches for 15 years from 50-65. From what I've read I'm pretty sure the estrogen is what invited the M in!!
