Meningioma invading the superior sagittal venous sinus: Next steps?

Posted by Diana @dg12, May 13, 2025

Hello,
I have a meningioma that is invading the superior sagittal venous sinus, unfortunately is been there since 2019, but was able to be seen on 2024 after a ct scan due to I have had a brain surgery for a brain aneurysm that was clip on 2004, so I have to follow-up. Anyone with a similar situation, to be honest I am a bit worry, going to see a neurosurgeon after my MRI to see what the next steps are

Good afternoon to all,
Sorry that I just update you all, had my craniotomy on August and everything went well, recuperation went slow, but the neurosurgeon did an awesome job, unfortunately because part of my meningioma us wrap around the superior sagittal venous sinus and the optic nerve he could not remove that part so I will have to do radiation on January, for what I was told is the Photon one and will be only for 5 days, due to the part of the meningioma left is only 2cm which I am thankful. I am feeling ok, had to go back to the hospital in October due to fever and migraines and to this point no doctors or test(they tested me for every single thing and everything came up negative) were able to figure out what I had, they were giving me antibiotics for Pneumonia, since I had something on my lungs, but I was not coughing or were whizzing. I am feeling much better, came back to work and slowly I am getting back to my normal. Definitely was a rough road, but thankful for God, and all the doctor and all of the advice and tips from you all, that helped me a lot. My radiation will be on January, since I was giving the option to wait till then, I think is good for me to wait since I do not think my body at this moment is ready for radiation. Just want it to give you all a quick update

Diana: Thanks for letting us know. Take it easy during the upcoming holiday get-togethers and let others do the heavy lifting so you can continue to get stronger. And by the way, I've had pneumonia before with no coughing, just a slight fever of 99 and the cold chills. Am glad they gave you antibiotics and you got better.

I have this also. They can't operate said it's in critical place. I had consult with Nero surgeon n Jan 9th have consult with radiation oncologist to talk about about one time radiation. How are you doing? What are your given options, my tumor was seen in 2017 I wasn't told. It's grown, not the size it's where n what it's growing into. Are you having leg weakness n headaches etc? Hugs to you, I am by myself on this. I hope you have support.
