Medical ID bracelet a good idea?

My spleen was removed along with part of my pancreas. Should I wear a bracelet saying I don’t have a spleen?

Yes. Most definitely. Be sure to keep up to date with vaccinations and to have a supply of antibiotics readily available to start treatment immediately if you spike a fever over 100.4. It’s easy to become complacent over time as you feel fine. However, without a spleen you will always be at risk of bacterial infections.

I have a medical ID bracelet from RoadID.com with a recurring $19.99 yearly subscription for emergency personnel to access with the ability for me to update my medical information at any time for them to review.

It gives me piece of mind that my ID bracelet can speak for me in an emergency if I'm unable to.

Thank you! I just saw my doctor yesterday and he agrees. I have antibiotics on hand now, and will get a medical id

I do not have your concern, but do have a medical bracelet from MedicAlert Foundation. I am a blood cancer patient and also on dialysis, using a fluid not in common use. It skews up a glucose reading unless a specific machine is used. My medical ID also lets a first responder know I have a DNR.
