MCI and executive dysfunction

Continue to ask your doctor/neurologist. If you live in a small town, try to connect with a major medical center in your area. You are wise to ask this question!!! Be your own strong advocate & if you have a loved one or a trusted friend share your journey with them.

I am meeting with an attorney to make sure that my will & estate are in order now, because I may not be able to do this later. I’m writing down which of my children should receive items from our home, etc.

I’m struggling with some executive functions also. I’m beginning to write myself a prominent note for events/ appointments for the next day and to clear out any clutter. This is helping me organize my life.

Can someone tell me how to handle a spouse who just doesn’t get the issues that come with mci and executive dysfunction. (She feels it is just a crutch for not remembering) i was diagnosed with both and am a 74 year old man. Is this diagnosis actually a concern?

I would ask my doc if he/she could meet with the two of you to help guide knowledge and expectations without accusations .
