Mayo Rochester, MN: Quality Health pay-for service helps
I recently underwent a non-kidney related surgery at the Rochester Mayo. They wanted me to be accompanied by another adult so my husband, who is on peritoneal manual dialysis, went with me. I was stressing out - worried about how my husband (who needs a wheelchair/transport chair) and I would get to and back from St. Mary's hospital.
We stayed at the Kahler Grand (always ask for patient discount) and there, on lobby level, was Quality Health, a pay for service resource. They took both of us back and forth and made sure we were in the right place before leaving. They also were very accommodating when my schedule was uncertain or changed. Ken at QUALITY HEALTH 507-910-9379 was so helpful and charged us only $40 total (to and from). There is also a FREE shuttle but they weren't running as early as I wanted and I didn't want to have to fool around with getting transport chair on board. Ken said they offer a full spectrum of services - including grocery shopping for example. I hope this may be helpful for someone else in our situation. Vicki

@ldrlaw, great information. I added your post to the Visiting Mayo Clinic support group as well and expanded the title. I'm so glad that the service not only helped get you to appointments and more, they also gave you peace of mind. 🙂
