Last CT scan shown one of the nodules I have is grown to 17 . Exhausted, coughing very weak out of breath need to sit down quite often when I try to walk because of the fatigue pain in my legs and lower back. Pulmonologist transferred me to an Infectious disease doctor. Saw him beginning of July and started antibiotics a week later. When I first was diagnosed in 2018 pulmonologist didn’t put me on the right regimen DR said. That’s why the Mac came back with a vengeance this time. I cannot go anywhere by myself to weak. On the three antibiotics and soon to start Arikayce. I’m beginning to wonder if the dosage, because of my weight is too much and is causing such severe side effects. I do see my doctor next week and will definitely ask about it.
Somewhere I read that MAI and MAC were from different sources. If I recall correctly, MAI from soil and MAC waterborne. There was also some difference regarding geographic location -- east of the Mississippi or not.
To dig into this further I suggest checking out https://ntminfo.org forum and other resources. There is a wealth of information there all things NTM.
Thank you, Scoop. I dug up some details on the LM site.
Wishing you every success with your treatment. I am sure you are doing your airway clearance.
