Make me smile

Posted by northoftheborder @northoftheborder, 1 day ago

Since the cancer compressed my spine and damaged my nerves in 2021, pain has been constant background noise in my life, but normally it's not enough to interfere with what I want to do. Today, however, it's hurting a lot around the surgery site, and I'm finding it hard even sitting up.

So give it your best shot. Post anything you want to make me smile and forget about the pain for a bit, and maybe it will even go away. I'll bet there are a few others in the forum who could use a smile today too (some probably much more than me).

I found this video and this guy is crazy. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/S09K4middIY hope it makes you smile!

My story for a Canadian guy- we need to put it to a vote: who wants Canada as a 51st state. I certainly don’t. I have no needs for Power or Greed. I try to be like Jesus daily. That’s hard to do too. Anyway my friend Dan whose 62 and used to live next door, is no longer there. 3 weeks age I asked the teenager living there: what happened to Dan. He lives there with a women in her 50s. The teenager told me this: I found him in the garage on the floor. He was unconscious. He had a fractured skull, fell off the ladder there. He had a brain bleed. He was in ICU four days. The teenager found an empty vodka bottle on the floor in the garage too. I went to see him 2 saturdays ago. He was just discharged they told me to a rehab. Center in Indiana. He had partial short term memory loss but appears to be OK. Guess my patio work won’t get done by Dan. His live in g/f found another woman online he was chatting with- the one that broke up his first marriage. She said: why do I need to go visit Dan now in rehab since he s had this woman all along on the side. Dans brother took him to his home as he was discharged from rehab. Last week. So much for our neighbor Dan. He s gone. There ya go: some true gossip for you to enjoy. TAKE CARE.

Awwee, I am so sorry to hear that North < 3... I can relate since I am no stranger to pain, had some really weird experiences with it in my life and on top of that with zero help from medical community. Every single time had to basically find diagnosis myself and THAN find a specialist who cold help and only THAN find some relief. Every single time it was very obscure condition with very little known help, but somehow with time and heaven's help it all eventually went away. Maybe not 100%, but to the level that is can be put on a "back burner". Here is one of the skits that make me laugh : ))), so I hope it will put smile on your face too. Sending you hugs and healing vibes on top of it : ))) < 3 !!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sCL_AATSv4

Name Your Pain. If it's going to show up uninvited every day, it should at least have a name you can shout with appropriate loathing. May I suggest:
Lord Twingeth of SpineCrack
Admiral Achebottom, Rear Division
The Count of Owcheek
Nervy McSpikeworm

Addressing your pain formally helps establish dominance. “I see you’ve returned, Baron von Bastard. Kindly sod off; I’m busy digesting this pudding cup with dignity.”

How about "Rip Nervy"? It's a little on the literal side, but also sounds like the name of a 1950s B-movie leading man, so I can work with it. 🙂

Feeling much better now — some combination of the laughs (thanks), going for a walk in the warm sun, taking a Tylenol, and having Voltaren rubbed on my surgery site. Probably all of the above.

Oh man! I have been on MCC now for over 2 years. Never knew you were in such pain. I have read all your post.

I will try to put a smile on your face from another poster who posted this comment some time ago. Many of my post I say I am not a medical expert. So my post to help you laugh today will be:

"I am not an medical expert but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night."

I remembered this commercials from years ago and it brought it a great laugh when a poster posted it one day.
