macroadenoma or craniopharyngioma
Hello,
My brother has been suffering from unexplained extreme weight loss and fatigue for the last 10 years, and he has finally been diagnosed. Thanks to the endocrinologist, we discovered that he has adrenaline insufficiency, and this amazing Dr. requested an MRI to get to the bottom of his weight loss. We got the results which showed a tumor. We are seeing a neurologist in two weeks to learn more about the type of tumor, which could be either a macroadenoma or a craniopharyngioma.
I am worried about the type of tumor he has, but I am so glad this group exists for support.

@nogaye, welcome. While I'm sure you are very worried about your brother, it must be a relief to be on the road to confirming a diagnosis and the path to treatment. I look forward to hearing the results of the appointment with the neurologist. When you know the type of tumor, I can help connect you with members who have a similar experience.
I know waiting is really hard. How are you doing? How is your brother doing?
Colleen,
I truly appreciate your comforting words during this challenging time. My brother is showing signs of improvement; he’s slowly gaining weight, which is a relief. Standing at 6'2", he was alarmingly low at just 107 pounds. However, since he began taking hydrocortisone medication, he has gained 13 pounds, which gives us hope. Despite this progress, I can’t help but worry about how he will respond to the upcoming results. Your support means a lot to us as we navigate this journey.
Hello, my brother just received a call from the neurologist, who said he is not a specialist in Pituitary Gland disorders. Does this indicate the type of tumor he has? We are seeking another referral.
Colleen,
He has a pituitary macroadenoma
