Lupron yeah or Lupron nay that is the question.

I've rationalized my need for Lupron Therapy. But there are holes in my analysis. The holes are there because of lack of data. So I'm in search of data. I want to hear the real data on the pros and cons of Lupron. All I have heard are generalities. Nothing specific, nothing quantatative, so let's get real.
I invite all to participate including moderators as this is relevant to all and also beneficial to all. My initial query. Who, what facility, has my Lupron answers? They have to be there else we would not be using that form of therapy. It had to have been researched into oblivion as are all procedures in the US of A thus justifying their cost structuring. When does Lupron cease to be effective? That is, what quantifiable condition of our tumors renders Lupron useful? If your doctor says you are cured of your cancer then why continue it's use? If it ain't broke why "fix" it??

It will make no difference whether you have three month shots or six month shots. They keep your testosterone down and each shot does the exact same thing?.

It isn’t the shot that causes the hot flashes. It’s the low testosterone.

I’m 77 and been on it almost 9 years. The hot flashes were pretty serious for a few years, They have gotten milder over time.

You really do need to use the reply button to reply to somebody. You used comment which comments on a message that started in 2022. As a result the person you replied to Doesn’t know you were talking to them.

If you have a real serious problem with hot flashes, I can give you some information to help. Make sure to hit reply if you want to have help.

Diagnosed in May 2004 at age 54 PSA 10
Surgery September, 2004 Gleason 4+3, it was in margins
No return of PSA for 6+ years until early 2011
For 9 years Lupron or Ellegard at 6-month intervals with occasional gaps of 1 year. For a few years TERRIBLE Hot Flashes then an almost 4-year gap before return of PSA.
Moved to another state, PSMA Scan showed spot in abdomen, had shot of Lupron then MRI 2-months later showed nothing!
Over next 9-months had four shots of Lupron extremely weak but no detectable PSA.
LET ME EMPHASIZE EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT, WHILE I SEE SOME PATTERNS, THE VARIATION IN SIDE EFFECTS IS SUBSTANTIAL.
Now AGE 75 gained 40+ pounds since start of Lupron. Flab everywhere, Atrophy/shrinkage long (no pun intended) a reality. BUT I AM ALIVE!
