Lung mass lesion - need expert opinion

Posted by sahiltaneja @sahiltaneja, Jun 28, 2022

My mother was detected with a lung lesion measuring 3.3 *2.4 cms in right lung upper lobe posterior segment in May 2021 when she was covid positive (accidental finding). 15 day later, Later we had one more CECT scan, and the size came out to be 1.4 * 1.6 cms, then pet scan showed sized 2.5*2.7 cms (August 2021) with SUV max as 1.7.

Follow up ct scan in June 2022 showed size as 2.4*2.1 cms with SUV max as 1.4... and pet scan in June 2022 showed 3.2*2.5 cms. Everytime it showed minimally hypermetabolic lymph nodes and few non avid subcentimetric lung nodules.
the FNAC says its adenocarcinoma.
P.S. I am awaiting detailed biopsy results to visit the oncologists. Just wanted a quick check what all are our options for treatment.

@sahiltaneja

She had covid in May 2021, been more than a year now. can swollen lymph nodes still be there because of covid?

@sahiltaneja- I'm not 100% sure of your answer but what I can tell you with certainty is that there are many people, myself included, that have minor, but very long-lasting side effects from the vaccinations. Both stimulate our immune system so it would not surprise me.
