Lower leg blood clot. Occlusion DVT thrombotic
I broke my hip. Ortho tried to repair with 3 screws. Not holding my weight. Need another surgery. Full hip replacement. On Lovenox in hospital for 4 days. Released from hospital but no mention to continue blood thinners. Blood clot formed and diagnosed in ER. Eliquis is not dissolving it. What next?

I had Postier cervical spine surgery last November 2020. I was put on a blood thinner for 30 days. I do not recall the name, but it was a disposable injection. How long were you on Eliquis? How was it determined that Eliquis was not dissolving.
I recently had to make a trip in mid-April to the ER for symptom I thought was a blood clot in my left leg. Only symptom was pain. Had an ultrasound which did show a blood clot behind my left knee. I was provided with a prescription for a 30-day supply of Eliquis by ER PA. My PCP provided the other 2 month that I needed. Mid-July will be the end of 3 months on Eliquis. There was no mention of any follow-up. Is it unusual not to have a follow-up to determine of blood clot is gone?
I had a sugery on April 26 2023 and 4 days later i had a DVT in my right lower leg. I was put on Elliquis for 3 months. During the first month ilI found out I had a genetic disorder call Factor V Leiden and they discovered i had MGUS. The next month I had a stroke which thankfully caused no permanent damage thanks to being on Elliquis at the time. Two years later I am now diagnosed with smoldering multiple myeloma. I read recently that dvt’s and strokes are associated with multiple myeloma. My next hematology/oncology appointment in August 22. I now take 81 mg aspirin daily and if I am flying long distances, I have a prescription for 2.5 mg Elliquis …just in casr.
In March of 2023, my blood work had a M protein spike of .6. I had a bone marrow biopsy, PET Scan, 24-hour urine and a lot of blood test. I see an Oncologist that monitors the MGUS. I also have elevated Free Kappa Lt,s 45.0 normal range is 3.3 to 19.4. Both have been stable with little change. I had been seeing the Oncologist every 6 months but the last visit, but after my last visit he changed it to 9 months, I see him again in July. I will look into DVT connection with multiple myeloma and mention it to him. What type of surgery did you have preceding the DVT? We seem to have a few health issues in common.
Definitely follow up on the blood clot.
