Low Lymphocytes

I was diagnosed with erythrocytosis which is being controlled by a plant based diet and now blood test every 3 months. Even though this is controlled my Lymphocytes have always remained low at between 13 to 16%. Several times my Neutrophils and WBC have also been sightly high. I also am low in most vitamins and iron but that is being controlled with prescription vitamins. I seem to catch anything that is going around. Does anyone have experience with low Lymphocytes and had success improving them? I just want to stay well.

Hello @fitchick40. If you don't mind me asking and if you are comfortable sharing, is your diagnosis of erythrocytosis related to a bigger diagnosis? I am not a medical professional, but it is my understanding that when a person has an infection it can affect your WBC counts in different ways. Has your provider mentioned any way of improving lymphocytes?

@JustinMcClanahan no mention has been made of a bigger diagnosis. I've asked why this happened and my doctor didn't have a why. I'm taking Vitamin C daily but it was thought the Lymphocytes would improve when the vitamin deficiency's improved. So far that hasn't happened but my doctor doesn't seem concerned that it's a major issue. I've been trying to avoid people and situations that could get me sick. I'm grateful that it's not something worse.

Has anyone talk to you about immunodeficiency? You might need infusions of immunoglobulins, what they call IVIG. Talk with your hematologist about it. You might find it boosts your immune system. I have low immunoglobulins after lymphoma and stem cell transplants, the IVIG helps me ward off infections due to my compromised immune system. Wishing you the best of luck.
