Low-grade glioma

I was diagnosed with a possible low-grade glioma near my amygdala and brain stem. Without getting a piece of it the doctors can’t confirm what it is. I am getting a biopsy this Friday finally because the glowing spot on the MRI grew. Anyone here have something similar? If so, what steps did you take and what did it end up being?

Until you hear back about biopsy, I think that the prediction of low grades is just a guess. I know it could be stressful waiting. Based on MRI, the oncologist guessed that I was a stage 4, but upon receiving
needle biopsy results it was found to be stage 3 oligodendroglioglioma.

That created more options in terms of treatment, though, due to location in left occipital/temporal area, they decided not to do surgery but just radiation and oral chemo in early 2022. the glioma tendrils, were zapped out of existence with the radiation and the tumor shrunk by 15%.

It has remained unchanging for 3 years, watched with quarterly MRI and eventually
to MRI every six months with prognosis of many years of living ahead of me.
