Low dose radiation therapy for knees?

Has anyone had success with LDRT specific for bone on bone knee arthritis? Old therapy coming back in vogue-thinking one more thing to try before TKR.

My 95 yr old friend with severe arthritis bone on bone knees had six treatments and it did wonders for her. I am waiting for an appointment to have a hip done.
