Long COVID strange sympton

I am not sure this is Long COVID related. I have had LC for over 5 years and this has just started a few months ago. But about once every 3 or 4 weeks, I wake up with what feels like a sprained ankle. It is so painful that I can hardly walk. I am already using a walker due to balance and dizziness problems, so this ankle thing just makes it much worse. It usually lasts 3 - 4 days, then is gone until the next time. Has anyone else experienced this crazy problem? If so, what do you do about it? I went to my GP and they had no idea what causes it.

This sounds like nerves flaring. Covid is known to affect the nervous system. Do you have diabetes or any vascular issues in your legs/calves/feet?

You may want to see a neurologist for testing. You may have small fiber neuropathy and there is a skin punch biopsy that can confirm. There is no cure for this but there are medications and supplements/topical nerve creams that can help with symptoms.

I have small fiber neuropathy and it causes issues in legs/glfeet at night. I take alpha Lipoic acid, Acetyl l carnitine and magnesium supplements which helps calm my small nerve fibers. Salonpas makes lidocaine nerve pain patches that can help relieve pain temporarily. Compression socks can help, too.

Sorry to say I have given up on the medical profession. I try supplements I see others are trying here. Nothing has helped so far. I am almost three years in. Gets very depressing, but I am not giving up. Surely someone will figure this out. As you have experienced these weird localized pains resolve themselves in three or four days.

my daughter has attacks of pain in one ankle and has found relief from using a Ionic Foot Spa that she found on Facebook. if she skips a day or 2 the pain returns.

I know nothing - but an Doc Orthopedic doc is better to diagnose. Personally, don't mention COVID - they all seem to poo poo the relationship

Since covid, I have developed neuropathy now known as a LC symptom. Burning feet all the way up almost to the knee.

Oh my goodness! I am also LC since March 2020 from the alpha variant. It has happened twice in the last few months: my right leg-not my ankle but about 3 inches up from it-a deep pain that hurt like heck and hurt more when walking. Icing it was the only thing that helped but it wasn’t a pulled muscle or anything. It was there maybe 5-6 days and then went away mostly. Another weird one to add to the list.

I get it in my ankles, especially my knees but more on the left knew and wrists from time to time.
I've started getting very odd burning sensations in both of my upper arms and shoulders as well that come and go.
The odd things that keep happening is scary.
I ended up with thrush for the 1st time in my life this week.
